CNY

My first (hopefully of many) posts! Let me wish all of you theophilusians out there a blessed Chinese New Year.

Today was a great day for me. Mostly sparked off by the sermon. (In which our dear loudspeaker friend is absent! Yay! A 10am service i can concentrate in) It's like God planned for it to reinforce what i learnt in the Christian Fellowship back in School. Be it Genesis or Revelations, God's plan for us is to bring us back to that perfect relationship, also known as rest (please correct me if i am wrong, theologically trained ones... pastors) and we are to rule with him. The original plan is- God is King over us, we obey him totally. That is the perfect relationship. In return, we rule over the earth. Only with the earlier relationship can everything be perfect.

The main take away was this verse though: v8 "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

As i look at myself. I am unbelieving, untrusting in God. I believe this is what led to my disobedience to him. I am also cowardly. Cowardly to live out my faith, though i know, and get reassurances every now and then that it is true.

How did God speak to you through the sermon?

Also to let all of you know, i've been praying for each and everyone of us in our class, for our spiritual revival and also that we would be amongst those who have overcome (Rev21:7). That's why it's important that we encourage each other. But if we don't know each other well enough, we don't know each other's problems, each other's true selves, how do we do that? I am also reminded to pray for our unity. Hopefully, 20 years down the road, it's still us (and alot more people of course) fellowshiping together, persevering these short period of time on earth, that we may spend the rest of eternity together, at rest with God.
